The platform's AI kit was basically complete today: it can speak (streaming output), listen (Doubao streaming speech recognition, text appearing as you talk), and read (OCR gained a handwriting mode — even a child's wobbly strokes). More important than completeness was funneling it all into one gateway, plus fixing a hidden piece of unfairness: when a recognition provider itself went down, the user's quota got charged anyway. Why? Now failures don't count. The day also paid dividends for having standards: two variable names in the streaming branch broke convention and TS checking caught them on the spot — five-minute fixes. In the old days, inconsistencies like that surfaced only when production blew up.
